Clothing Should Make Life Easier
For people who use prosthetic limbs, something as ordinary as getting dressed can create unexpected challenges. Adjusting, removing, or maintaining a prosthesis may mean struggling with restrictive clothing, searching for a private place to undress, or relying on someone else for help.
The Amputee Outfitters Foundation believes clothing should support a person’s life and not create additional barriers. We fund and encourage the research and development of adaptive clothing designed around the real experiences of amputees. Every idea we pursue is guided by dignity, independence, comfort, and respect.
